Super Junior’s world tour concert Super Show 4 sold out in record time in Taiwan.Super Show 4
was originally to be held from February 3-5 in Taiwan’s Taipei Arena,
and tickets for the third day’s concerts were sold on December 31 while
tickets for the remaining concerts were sold on January 1. Fans had to
fight for tickets despite the two day division in sales, however, as all
30,000 tickets sold out as soon as sales opened.
On the first day, tickets sold out in a mere 30 minutes, and on the
second day, in an even shorter 17 minutes. These times break the record
for the fastest selling concert in Taiwan concert history.Taiwanese
media outlets reported about the event in their January 3 issues with
headlines such as ‘The Super Junior Concert Rebellion; 30,000 Tickets
Disappear in Seconds’ and ‘Super Junior’s Taiwan Concert to be Held Next
Month Sell Out Tickets In Record Breaking 17 Minutes’.The ordeal was
far from over even after ticket sales ended, however, as Taiwanese fans
started to bombard the ticket agencies with requests for more tickets
and illegal tickets started to be touted in unofficial sales venues. In
the end, officials added another day to Super Show 4′s three day concert for a total of four days. As such, Super Show 4
in Taiwan will be taking place from February 2-5, four days total, with
40,000 fans.Super Junior members Donghae and Si Won are also gathering
more popularity in Taiwan with their roles in the popular Taiwanese
drama Skip Beat, which is currently airing on Taiwan’s GTV.Photo credit: SM Entertainment
