The ladies of 2NE1 are still feeling the love stateside, most recently making SLANT magazine’s ‘The 25 Best Singles of 2011’ list with hit I Am the Best.The American pop culture publication revealed its selection of the year’s 25 hottest songs on its website on December 13. 2NE1’s I Am the Best coincidentally (?) came in at number 21, and in the list compiled by the magazine’s staff, the writer praised the girl group, stating, “2NE1′s I Am the Best is a jaw-dropping, vibrant triumph of pure swagger and verve.”
The girls are among an impressive repertoire of artists, including Beyonce, Frank Ocean, Britney Spears, Lady Gaga, Adele and Kanye West. This is particularly noteworthy, considering the girls have not yet made their official debut in the U.S. 2NE1 was also recognized as the Best New Band in the World by MTV Iggy and headlined the 2011 Best New Band in the World Concert in New York City on December 12.
